Bachelor of Innovation™ and entrepreneur
My Bachelor of Innovation™ (BI) degree signifies that I have worked with inter-disciplinary teams to practice and develop a skillset that employs innovative thinking and processes, unique to a Bachelor of Science degree. I stand apart from a Bachelor of Science major because I approach circumstances and problems as an engineer, but also an innovator, applying the technical skills of a computer security professional while also applying myself as a visionary. My experience includes collaborating with clients to transform their ideas for their business and products into the impact they aspire to create. I am an innovator with experience collaborating with diverse, cross-disciplinary teams to transform novel ideas into substantial impact.
Introducing Innovation and Myself as An Innovator
Innovation is defined by the Bachelor of Innovation as “the transformation of ideas into impact”. My experience as an innovator involves collaborating with other innovators in majors such as Early Childhood Education, Game Design, Business Administration, and Marketing to make a formal recommendation to the founder of a company on how to become a household name through their products, services, and continuous community outreach. Additionally, I have worked with a diverse team to research and develop marketing possibilities for an independent game developer’s video game. Working with a team to conduct research for implementing a vulnerability lab for the National Cybersecurity Center, we also delivered a business plan.

As an innovator recognizing the value of relationships, I cherish and cultivate relationships to stimulate collaboration and encourage an environment capable of achieving the transformation of ideas into impact. I am an innovator with experience collaborating with diverse, cross-disciplinary teams to transform novel ideas into substantial impact. Viewing the world and its challenges differently, I develop fresh ideas and support others that have different ideas.
I am comfortable being uncomfortable, unfamiliar situations and conditions are an inspiring environment to learn and grow. I find value in reflecting on plans that unfold differently than originally intended, seeing opportunity where others see chaos. I know how to inspire people to see the future and not be fixed to the past. I am an innovator that practices reading what people are saying yet not communicating. As an innovator, I pursue clearing clutter to create space for goals to be realized and craft vision for the future, employing language as a tool to rewrite the future. I am a learner that applies deliberative thinking and discipline toward daily tasks and challenges with the intent to learn and achieve progress and results. When innovative practices are applied to my strengths, I deliver inventive thoughts and implement action to transform ideas into impact.

The Bachelor of Innovation (BI) is an interdisciplinary undergraduate program. The BI™ is a family of degrees, much like a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts. It is a very structured program that consists of an Innovation Core, a Cross-Discipline Core, a major field of study, general education courses and Compass Curriculum requirements. The Cross-Discipline Core helps to ensure the breadth needed for innovation.
